The Hibiscus-Tropical Splender

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Nothing says tropical like Hibiscus flowers and plants.  True, the blossoms don’t hold up too long but fresh flowers can last long enough for a bouquet or hair ornament and silk flowers can fill in nicely.

Wedding Dresses Under $500 Keep Brides On Their Budget

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Yes you can be beautiful for under $500.  Don’t call it a budget but a savings.  Many designers have a line of affordable dresses so you just need to look.  Below is a sampling of what can be found.

Alfred Angelo seems to be a bride’s best friend offering up a wide range of styles, prices and even great looking plus-size dresses.

A simple dress from Aria leaves lots of room to accessorize.

A sweet, elegant dress from David’s Bridal ditto one from Galina.

I just love the Jessica McClintock which is actually one of the lowest priced dresses here.

Other photos:  A mermaid dress from Jordan’s Bridal; a gorgeous Maggie Sottero from her destinations collection; and a sultry gown from Mon Cheri.

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Bridal 2010-Acra, de la Renta, Wang, St. Pucchi, Sweet and Priscilla

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

The ruffled yoke on this dress from Priscilla of Boston’s Vineyard collection is an interesting new twist.  The Vera Wang seems a little over-the-top but then again, young, trendy brides may just go for it.  The St. Pucchi below is simply perfect: it has so many details while still remaining simple-love it!  Reem Acra offers up dream dresses: delicate, detailed, sexy, elegant.  If you can ignore the hat you will notice the stylish cut on this Oscar de la Renta-fabulous and fashionable.  Melissa Sweet always seems to know the way to a bride’s heart, below another of her dresses to die for.

If Its Spring They Must Be Tulips

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

While many people only consider the beautiful Tulip for Easter or Mother’s Day, tulips in their many colors and varieties serve us in numerous ways beyond gift plants and garden borders.

Bridal Wear 2010-A Peak Into Your Future

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Lots of drama here with no overdone puffery.  The dress from Carolina Herrera is just plain pretty and the high neckline puts it in a class by itself. A sampling from Monique Lhuillier shows off a variety of looks-all simple and elegant.  One of my favorite designers, Cymbeline, offers another take on the delicate, wispy look we love about their designs.  The bodice couldn’t be sexier while still leaving room for the bride to feel like a princess.  Melissa Sweet goes all high-fashion and we love the look of this stylish dress.  There is something very sweet and bride-like about this dress from The Vineyard Collection, Priscilla Of Boston.

All and all Spring 2010 is shaping up to be a fabulous season for bridal wear and we’ll be showing more later in the week.

Summer Weddings-Burn Baby Burn

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Hot days call for cool wedding solutions like the items below.  At a beach or in a garden, leaning toward casual keeps brides looking great throughout the special day and into night.

A perfect summer dress from J. Crew looks light and airy without sacrificing glamour.

A hot weather hairstyle is simple but very elegant.

Barefoot sandals allow the bride to shine at the beach, while Colorifics takes it up a notch in strappy, easy to walk in shoes.

Lots of glitz gets added with this stunning bracelet from Siman Tu.

A beautiful beach dress from Demetrios is demure and appropriate.  Maggie Sottero take the hot weather look in another direction, with flowing fabric and ruffled trim.

A Martha Stewart table arrangement makes things all pretty and coastal.
